Rodan Media newsletter header

THIS IS AN ARCHIVE FILE

Rodan Media is now Rodan Media Group Corporation, and we are forging ahead with a number of projects within and outside of the domain industry. All are directly related to website and domain development, which are not entirely the same animal, though they spring from the same breed.

On the website development projects, we are current working with a number of attorneys in the Fort Lauderdale area to get their websites online during this difficult economic period. These are lawyers who, having seen the work we have done for other attorneys, have elected to utilize the services of Rodan Media Group to build their websites for them, all at a low cost. Price being a critical issue, we take the smaller projects with the large.

On the domain development front, we are presently working with two key players in the domain industry, whom all of you will know, to develop several hundred domains. For one of these partners, we are engaged in the development of a group of networked domains that will drive traffic between them, enhancing the overall syndication value of the entire network and driving the value of a sponsorship advertising model.

With another of these key players, we have already begun the incipient development of a mass social networking site that will be unlike anything Facebook or Twitter is presently doing online. Unfortunately, as much as we itch to reveal the details of each of these large projects, we are simply not able to do so at this time.

On the social networking platform, however, we will be making a more formal announcement by the end of the summer.

There is also a third project revolving around our aforementioned attorney websites that will involve a legal network of domains, primarily utilizing the Central NIC ccTLD of .us.com. This is a more risky venture for us, but it also holds a generous reward if we plant the right seeds in the right soil.

In all, this is a potent summer of change for Rodan Media Group, and we would like to personally thank those within the domain industry who have supported us, and extend a very heart-felt note of gratitude to our clients outside of the domain industry who continue to recognize the value of what we do.

In addition to our website projects, we continue to offer quality audio and video production services, which are often included as part our domain development projects. These services are unique in that they can be provided to any client who wishes to integrate audio or video into their own domain development or website development project. Plus, these projects can be included This is why we continue to use the tag line, “Superior Content Development”. It does not just mean websites or domains, it means platform-agnostic development.

While we still offer premium print-graphic services, such as advertising design, billboards and banners, we are moving away from this particular service because it has declined in profitability significantly since late 2007. The bulk of our advertising design was for the real estate industry, and the last project we had for any broker or real estate agent was in July 2008.

We will look forward to meeting many of you, personally, as we cross paths at industry conferences and trade shows. Some of these shows will be developers conferences, and others show will be for the domain industry, itself. Specifically, we look forward to seeing many of you at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Shows as Rick Schwartz and Howard Neu continue to define new trails for the domain industry, and for we developers who serve it.

All things being equal, there has never been a time of greater opportunity.
